Into The Wind Kids Delta Kite Review and Giveaway Ends June 17, 2010

Having a kite store in a place with some of the worst winds on the planet, they have learned at Into the Wind what separates kites that fly well from kites that fly great. Together with leading kite designers, they have turned that experience into some of the best flying kites anywhere.
From the beginning, Into the Wind has viewed kites as the fine art of enjoying the wind. Into The Wind was founded in 1980 by architects, George Emmons and Jim Glass. For years they were Into The Wind. They would test fly and photograph the kites, produce the catalog, take and ship mail orders and operate the store 7 days a week. In their spare time they designed and made several kites, which still appear in the catalog. Over the years Into The Wind has grown into a group of around 20 folks who enjoy making our living by helping other people enjoy the wind. Located on the historic downtown Boulder Mall, Into The Wind’s store and mailorder are in a turn of the century building at 1408 Pearl Street.
We live in a very windy area,  and with it being spring it is the perfect time to get out and fly a kite.  Into the Wind was so great and Sent us the Kids Delta for Review.
The Kid’s Delta Kite Perfected
Skill Level:        Beginner
Min. Wind:       5 mph
Max. Wind:       20 mph
Brand:       Into The Wind
Added to site:       04/20/2010
Kites for Kids:       Light pulling kite for ages 5
The kite came exactly as they said , ready to fly, in five minutes it was up and performing perfectly. They flew it for well over an hour and had a great time with it.
Small enough to have a light pull, the Kid’s Delta Kite has Velcro®-attached 10-ft. nylon tails that make it a  cinch to launch and a foolproof flier in 5 to 20 mph winds. 4’-6” x 2’-4”. 28” case.
Made of ripstop nylon and fiberglass spars, it’s Ready to Fly with 300’ of 50-lb. polyester line on a handle.
The stable flight of delta kites is partially due to a certain amount of wing flexibility which is accomplished by allowing the two wings to flex independently of each other.
If the two wing spars extended all the way to the nose the delta frame would be too rigid, preventing the self-steering and self-correcting actions that allow deltas to ride out gusts and drift on thermals so effectively.
