They are husband and wife team that – like most new parents – started thinking more about ingredients, materials and the impact they’re having on the environment when they had kids. They found there were lots of eco-friendly products out there, just not readily available – in Canada.After returning to Vancouver from London, UK, this Husband and Wife team decided to take a leap and in 2007 launched Lavish & Lime, offering contemporary products with the level of style they had become accustomed to in Europe.
Lavish & Lime is about shades of green. "We’re not tree huggers and we’re definitely not litter bugs either – we’re somewhere in between and firmly believe that even small steps make a difference. If we all do a little, it will help a lot. That’s what the ‘Lime’ is about. The ‘Lavish’ is all about giving and enjoying nice things. Eco doesn’t have to be boring and beige anymore"
At Lavish & Lime they source unique, contemporary products that look good. They just happen to be good for you and the planet too – because they should. Green is no longer a fad, it’s a way of life and the smartest, most efficient way to do things when all true costs are taken into account. Everything at Lavish & Lime has been selected because of its inherent quality and style. Each product must successfully pass through one of three filters: eco-friendly, natural/non-toxic and made in Canada. Eco-friendly - either made of sustainable (bamboo, cork, etc.) or recycled materials or encourages people to reduce and reuse.
Natural/non-toxic - this category recognizes healthy materials and manufacturing processes are linked to our own health and well being and that of the environment.
Made in Canada - buying Canadian not only helps support the local economy and jobs, it also reduces the carbon footprint and provides a level of consumer comfort regarding production and labour standards.

Their research has brought both Colin and Louise to the conclusion that concerns should be more about the standards of the manufacturer and less about the physical location of the manufacturing. Companies who engage in ethical business practices and commit to ensuring high quality products are the ones we have chosen to deal with and we will continue to do so. I like taking my own shopping bags grocery shopping and I was so fortunate that Lavish & Lime sent me their new Envirosax-Slingsax shopping bag for Review. This super Slingsax is made by Envirosax and it is a mavelous design, excellent size for running errands and picking up the mail. I love using this bag and its been so fun to use now that spring is here. If I can, I usually get most of my errands done walking with the kids or on the bike. {We live in a nice small town, so walking is very easy} It is easily adjustable and it's great for a quick trip to the market!

Envirosax bags are lightweight, waterproof and each one holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags, thanks to reinforced seams.

Envirosax bags are lightweight, waterproof and each one holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags, thanks to reinforced seams.
They're made of polyester which allows the bag to be rolled up into a compact package and is highly durable.
The inks and dyes used in the printing of the bag are eco-friendly and no carcinogenic amides are used. The printing process sublimation is used to ensure the bags will not fade when washed. Envirosax® originates from South East Queensland, Australia. They use renewable and recyclable products where possible, and are committed to operating on ecologically sustainable principles. The bags themselves are responsibly made in China by a manufacturer that meets all fair trade guidelines. To clean: A 20 degree hand wash, and line dry is recommended. Machine washing will eventually break down the PVA coating that gives the Envirosax its waterproofness. Machine washing will also place additional stress on the bag's stitching and shorten its lifespan.
