BabyKicks Review and Giveaway Ends April 20, 2010

BabyKicks has been designing and manufacturing superior hemp diapering products in the USA since October 2000.

Krista, the original founder and owner of Babykicks was inspired to start BabyKicks after finding the new world of WHAM-made diapers on the internet which did not exist when she had her first three kids in the cotton Gerber prefolds.

In February of 2007 Krista decided to sell BabyKicks to two young entrepreneurs who shared her passion for the environment and both in love with the BabyKicks product line-up.

As a result of the new Family based ownership BabyKicks re-located from Chicago, IL to the eastern shore of Maryland and plans to introduce exciting new products that make use of the many benefits of hemp based fabric. Furthermore, BabyKicks will utilize its partnerships with mothers and producers around the world to bring exciting and novel products to North America.

The current day-to-day business is run by Patti (our Customer Service Manager and mother of two young children ages two and six) while the new owners ensure the production quality and oversee product innovation and development.

In addition to doing their small part to help the environment - hemp based materials are much less straining on the environment then cotton only material - BabyKicks strongly believes in social responsibilities. As a result BabyKicks has started to move some of its production (particularly the cutting and sewing) to be done by local disabled workshops and they could not be happier with the quality and commitment. 
I was very thrilled to be sent a BabyKicks Bumboo Pocket Diaper for Review. I am a fan of Bamboo  so I already liked the feel of this diaper as soon as I recieved it in the mail.  This is a really soft, trim, great fitting diaper on Emma. The BabyKicks Pocket Diaper is a well made diaper with amazing absorption qualities.

Bumboo Pocket Diaper

The wonderful BabyKicks Bumboo Pocket Diaper is a one-size diaper that is incredible trim and thin.  It features luxurious inner lining which ensures only the softest fibers touch baby’s most sensitive areas. **The innovative micro fleece barrier design prevents wicking to the outside and special fleece leg air gussets stop leaks and hold messes in while allowing airflow to help prevent diaper rash. This is a feature that I had never seen before, it really prevents those rashes babies can get sometimes and I had no leaks what so ever!

No blow-outs or inserts hanging out of the back of this diaper due to the front stuffing pocket. The with a flap to tuck the liner in this is fairly easy diaper to stuff. The opening is a not huge but I am still able to get my hand in to stuff the diaper easily.

Side snap closures are long lasting, user friendly and prevent wing-droop. Colorful snaps look cute and can function as intuitive, color coded sizing guide (if you choose the multi-colored snap option).   I really like this added touch to the diaper. It is the BabyKicks look!

No cover required due to their super soft breathable waterproof outer shell. Their Bumboo Pocket is sure to quickly become a favorite in your diaper stash. Unbeatable quality and value! I really like the features of this diaper alot. 
Features: 

One Size Design grows with baby from 7lbs/3.2kg to 30lbs/13.6kg. The intuitive snap-down sizing system makes adjusting and finding the right size and fit super easy. You will only needs to buy diapers once, saving you time and money!

Bamboo/Fleece lining: The incredibly soft inner liner (against baby’s skin) is made of luxurious 30% Certified Organic Cotton and 70% Rayon made from Bamboo. The material will remain soft, absorbent and silky wash after wash.

Air Gussets are made of a special fleece material and contain no PUL, which allows for even more air flow to help prevent rashes. The Soft fabric does not leave red marks on baby’s legs, but still protects against leaks and blow outs.

Front Pocket allows for easy stuffing of diaper and gives you the option to customize the absorbency. The front pocket eliminates inserts hanging out of the back of the diaper and prevents solids from leaking onto the insert.

Side Snaps eliminates wing drop problem and are easy to use, durable and long lasting. The two rows of four snaps allow for separate waist and thigh adjustment and will give you a perfect fit. Side snaps are harder for toddlers to undo, and this also makes the diaper easy to use as a training pant when the time comes. This is a feature that I really like.
Waterproof Outer Shell removes the need for a cover. Their super-soft breathable PUL is waterproof and makes sure baby’s clothes stay nice and dry.

 These are six layers of absorbent natural hemp/certified organic cotton jersey that are only 1/8 of an inch thick, especially for use with Fuzzi Bunz but work great with all other pocket diapers. Designed to be trim, absorbent and easy to use since there's no folding. Use one Joey-Bunz for daytime, two for nighttime, or three for a super-soaker and still have a trim fit. Gently contoured to be comfortable for baby.
Joey-Bunz also make GREAT doublers or use them by themselves in a snug fitting wrap. Joey-Bunz are better than inserts made from man-made micro fibers because hemp is a natural product, grown without pesticides and not bleached, which is very harmful to the environment. Hemp also protects your baby because it is naturally anti-microbial.

These are made from the same fleece used for our prefold diapers and doublers. The soft fleece is ideally suited for thorough cleanups. They are 7.5" by 9.5" ovals. A must have for the bath tub, changing table, high chair and diaper bag! Keep a pile of these on your changing table along with a spray bottle containing diluted Dr. Bronners for a gentle, economical cleanup. Toss into the diaper pail and wash with the diapers.
Their Washies are truly an all purpose product - they even heard that dad's started using them because they cleaned their camera and photo lenses, as well as eye glasses better than anything else they previously used. You just cannot go wrong with our little washies!
