Simply Chickie Review and Giveaway - Ends Jan 4, 2010

Simply Chickie was created by Gwen Gardner, a mom with a fascinating creative background. Coming from a long list of writers and artists it was in 1988 when she lived in Japan that she became fascinated with fine elegance, detail and passion for nature that Japanese art highlights. This lead to Simply Chickie designs. Hand made in Newport, Rhode Island these 100% organic cotton T-shirts and onsies range in size 3/6 mths to 6T. Simply Chickie is sold in boutiques and stores around the country and offers over 2 dozen designs to choose from on hats, T-shirts , and onsies.

I have had the pleasure of hosting a Giveaway in the past for Gwen and I was thrilled when Gwen agreed to another Giveaway at Organic Girl.  I was lucky and this time and was  given a "Sweet Stuff" T-shirt for Emma to review! I love organic clothing especially on my children.  It makes me feel even better that by supporting all companies that make organic clothing I am helping cut back the need for pesticides and sprays on our earth.

 This T-shirt is super soft, a quality about organic clothing I love, and has a wonderful wide neck opening for getting on Emma. I also like that Emma's T-shirt is tag less!!

What I like the most about Simply Chickie is the whole process in which my t-shirt was made. "Gwens designs are based on some antic by Elizabeth or by one of her little friends. She cuts the design from paper that she has found on travels around the world--and then paint in whatever might augment the picture. The original art piece is then computer graphically arranged and a saying is added in an appropriate font and layout. The design is then transferred to a onesie, shirt, or hat. This entire process is done piece-by-piece--truly handmade. And all T-shirts, onsies and hats are 100% Organic, natural--no dyes are used.  

The graphics and sayings, inspired by "Elizabeth", her daughter makes these eco- friendly, creative and "oh so charming" t-shirts and onsies one of a kind. The art, the expression, the and style of Simply Chickie is full of humor and good hearted whimsical fun.
